AdRotate Pro 5.8.24 - Tweaks and fixes

Friday March 22, 2013
More tweaks and little improvements to the plugin to further streamline the advertising experience. Stats checkboxes now work more intuitively and certain functions are excluded from running for WP CLI and wp-cron to optimize performance and prevent errors. As you may have noticed, the clicks and impressions tracking checkboxes for adverts didn't work for Matomo and Google Analytics - This has been fixed. You can now send either clicks, impressions or both to Matomo or Google Analytics. Also included are a few fixes for warnings or errors that may pop up in certain situations. AdRotate Pro now better deals with it or prevents the issue from cropping up in the first place. And to improve support for WP CLI (WordPress through the Command Line Interface) certain functions related to Geo Targeting and Sessions are excluded from running. This saves you lookups keeps things fast, but also prevents a weird quirk that often generate a PHP Warning.

Blocks

Do you use the new AdRotate Pro Blocks? Did you notice they're there? If not AdRotate Pro has support for blocks for WordPress its' Gutenberg editor. This was added a few months ago. What do you think? Let me know in the comments below! If you look in the block editor you'll find two blocks available, one for groups and one for single adverts that you can use in posts and pages as well as widget replacements. In the block editor simply search for 'AdRotate', 'Banner' or some other relevant keywords and you'll find the blocks easily. Of-course AdRotate Pro with blocks is still compatible with ClassicPress as well.

Paypal Surcharge and Stripe Surcharge updated

Friday March 22, 2013
Paypal Surcharge and Stripe Surcharge have been updated to work with current WooCommerce versions. Added support for Subscriptions and improves support for Classic Commerce a lot. Both plugins received the same overhaul to better support Classic Commerce on ClassicPress. The plugins no longer require the fake WooCommerce plugin to activate. Also included is support for the WooCommerce Subscriptions plugin. The surcharge is now also added to recurring payments if you enable it in settings. https://ajdg.solutions/product/paypal-surcharge/. https://ajdg.solutions/product/stripe-surcharge/.

Changes for Stripe Surcharge 1.4

  • Rebranded plugin to 'Stripe Surcharge'
  • Added checkbox to add a surcharge for subscriptions paid through Stripe
  • Improved support for Classic Commerce
  • Improved support for webtoffee and paymentplugins dot com stripe plugins
  • Code cleanup

Changes for Paypal Surcharge 1.2

  • Rebranded plugin to 'Paypal Surcharge'
  • Added checkbox to add a surcharge for subscriptions paid through Paypal
  • Improved support for Classic Commerce
  • Improved support for Paypal Express checkout and WooCommerce Paypal Payments plugins
  • Code cleanup

Re-install the plugin

Part of better supporting Classic Commerce is dropping the name specifics for WooCommerce. This means the file name and text domain has changed in the plugin. As such 'WooCommerce Paypal Surcharge' is now 'AJdG Paypal Surcharge' and 'WooCommerce Stripe Surcharge' is now 'AJdG Stripe Surcharge'. Or simply Paypal Surcharge and Stripe Surcharge for short. This also means that the new version replaces the old one a little different than usual. Since you do not overwrite the old version you need to uninstall the old version first before activating the new plugin. This takes only a minute or two. But keep in mind that both the old and new release can not co-exist. The old one needs to be de-activated and uninstalled before activating the new release. For detailed steps on how to update the plugin take a look at the new Update guide - Updating a plugin on your website.

AdRotate Pro 5.8.23 for WordPress - Maintenance release

Friday March 22, 2013
A few small tweaks and improvements to fine-tune and improve AdRotate Professional for you even further. The Premium support pages has been update to reflect current support options. A few dashboard tweaks and all translations have been updated.

Translations

AdRotate Pro includes several translations, including Spanish, French, Italian, and German. These translations while useful are generated with some machine learning system from Microsoft. I of-course don't speak any of these languages aside from a little Spanish. So if you find any errors with the grammars or outright wrong lines, let me know and I'll update the translation. In this update all recently updated lines are added and updated where nessesary. Let me know if you find any quirks.

Blocks

AdRotate Pro now has support for blocks for WordPress its' Gutenberg editor. Are you using them yet? What do you think? Let me know in the comments below or on the forum! Two blocks are available, one for groups and one for single adverts that you can use in posts and pages as well as widget replacements. If you find any quirks with the blocks let me know in the comments below or through your contact form in your dashboard. Thanks! Of-course AdRotate Pro with blocks is still compatible with ClassicPress as well.

AdRotate Banner Manager 5.8.26 - Available today!

Friday March 22, 2013
This update is mostly a maintenance release and consists of several tweaks and small changes to let the plugin function better and more safe. The advert generator now properly looks for images on several levels in the /banners/ folder. To prevent confusion and standardize names and titles a bit double quotation marks are no longer allowed in names. AdRotate will silently strip them out if you do use them. Single quotes are fine. On top of that several dutch phrases have been corrected and are now properly translated.

What do you want in AdRotate Banner Manager?

AdRotate Banner Manager has been feature complete for a few years now and as long time users have probably noticed updates have slowed down. Development is a bit slower and more casual. While this is great and all I'm also keen to hear your thoughts on features. Do you think features should be re-done or re-imagined? Things that need adding? Let me know. You can post a comment below or use the contact form for your ideas. Thanks!

Plugin reviews

AdRotate is in a class of its own. Easy to use, intuitive. I've used it for years, and wouldn't use anything else. Absolute top notch!

Works as advertised, low price and with great support as a bonus. When the new PayPal Woo Commerce Payment plugin was not recognized Arnan updated his plugin within days. Now it's working (again). 5 stars without a doubt.
