AdRotate Banner Manager 5.6 available now!

A small update fixing a few quirks in the dashboard. Optimizing a few workflows and overall has a lot of small changes in the background of the plugin. A useful update to stay current with features and how they work. A number of manuals on my website have been updated over the last 2 weeks as well.

Adverts, banners and ancient money makers

Flash adverts are no longer supported. If you have an embed code or object it’ll still work. But the dashboard and media manager doesn’t cater for it anymore. Switch your adverts to the more modern HTML5 standard if you want interactive adverts.

The Media Manager now better supports subfolders and SVG files for adverts, so that should make managing such banners more easy.

Translations

AdRotate Banner Manager now, finally, includes a proper POT file for translations. All included po/mo files have been updated to reflect the current strings in the plugin.
If you’ve made a translation, you can email it to me to have it included in the next version of AdRotate!

Update! Update! Update!

Updating your plugins, not just AdRotate Banner Manager, is almost always a good idea. If I got a dollar for every website I visited that didn’t update their plugins, themes or WordPress itself I’d be a millionaire by now. Updates are important for your websites security and to keep it current and fast. Updates for AdRotate Banner Manager are no exception. Although AdRotate has a pretty good track record in providing a safe experience. You still need to update regularly and get those bug fixes.

Updates are also important to get the latest features. AdRotate Banner Manager didn’t get all that many new features in the last 2 years or so. But features that are in the plugin already get improved all the time. From little tweaks to complete overhauls. It is therefor a good idea to update the plugin at-least a few times per year.
