Fixed sessions, improved controls for stats and compatibility with adverts. Better control over dashboard notifications and an awesome new feature coming soon.
Improved controls for stats
Stats can be enabled for every advert now. You can choose to count Impressions for every advert. And optionally enable Clicks for those that support it.
This works very easy with 2 checkboxes when editing/creating adverts.
Also the missing notification for click tracking on incompatible adverts has been fixed as well as a few new ones related to the new stats checkboxes.
If you enable clicks for an incompatible advert, AdRotate Pro now properly tells you about it with a familiar notification. No more guesswork.
Sessions now work
Duplicate adverts should now work more reliably and sessions no longer cause trouble with WordPress. Or shouldn’t… I couldn’t really reproduce the issue. But the session code has been updated and is triggered on a different filter. The one notable effect is that duplicate adverts are now actually working.
The secondary issue with WordPress itself should be fixed as well because of that.
Announcing an all new approach to website promotion. AdRotate Swap will be added to a near future version of AdRotate and AdRotate Pro.
AdRotate Swap is an easy way to promote your website for free on websites that use AdRotate or AdRotate Pro. Every AdRotate and AdRotate Pro user can participate.
From your dashboard you’ll be able to create a campaign for your website with a few specific settings such as which banner image to use and how long the campaign should run. Your campaign is then submitted to AdRotate Swap. Other AdRotate (Pro) users will send in their campaigns as well. Every publisher receives a selection of available campaigns to pick from and publish them on their website. Campaigns sent in from AdRotate Pro list higher than others.
And part of the dashboard will look a little something like this:
Your campaign may end up on dozens or hundreds of websites and you can choose campaigns to show on your website. The goal of your campaign is simple; drive traffic to your website. All publishers can choose which campaigns they want to show. Everyone is encouraged to add these campaigns to their regular ad spots so visitors on those websites can easily find your website.
The more people participate the better this works. Free promotion is never bad. More traffic is almost always good. If you’re selling something, you may get more sales. If you rely on advertising revenue, you’ll likely have more clicks and thus more revenue. But it also helps with your linkbuilding which may benefit your ranking in search. It’s win-win really.
If you have thoughts or comments about this new advertising system, let me know in the comments!
Staying up-to-date with plugins is important and is almost never a bad thing. Updates are important for your website security. But more often updates also add new or improve features as well.
Updates are available via your dashboard and require no special knowledge to install, this makes it extremely easy to keep your site secure and have the latest features.
