Home Forums AdRotate for WordPress General Support `rel=”sponsored”` vs. `rel=”gofollow”`

The href links that AdRotate creates have rel="gofollow".

Google says they should be rel="sponsored".

The way it is now may create a penalty in rankings.

Will this be addressed in an update?

    Arnan de Gans

The term gofollow is not something Google uses or reads and thus has no negative effect.
If you want to use sponsored, add it to your adverts simply by adding rel="sponsored" to the adcode where applicable.
