Description
ClassicPress is easy to use once you familiarize yourself with its dashboard. If you have used WordPress before you’ll instantly feel at home. Installation, while not very difficult, installation can be a bit daunting… Meanwhile you just want to create content and get going. And I’m here to help!
What you’ll get
I’ll take care of the technical stuff for you. This includes installing the latest version of ClassicPress and the options included in your package. You don’t have to deal with your hosting settings and setup at all if you don’t want to.
Next to that I can install my popular AdRotate Banner Manager plugin so you can get some advertisements going. This can be adverts from Google Adsense, Amazon Associates or any kind of advert you want.
Which Package is right for you
If you like WordPress, but don’t want WordPress… You should get ClassicPress and start your website with the best alternative. Also which package to get is something you have to consider and is a little bit dependent on your experience level and what you want to do.
If you want a mostly stock ClassicPress setup, obviously pick the Basic package. From there you can install plugins and themes yourself from the dashboard.
However, if you’re looking to get a website with a few plugins, a theme and all the essentials set up, the Standard package will suit you just fine.
Of-course you still need to add your own specific preferences and identity to the site. But once you’ve familiarized yourself with the dashboard and options that’s a piece of cake.
ClassicPress vs WordPress
ClassicPress is created from a older version of WordPress, version 6.2 to be specific. ClassicPress makes a great effort to remove the terrible Gutenberg editor from its system. Gutenberg is the name of the Block Editor added to WordPress version 5 and newer. Blocks are replacing themes and are supposed to make designing a website easier. But for many people it only slows down their website and makes editing pages and posts an annoying chore.
Not so with ClassicPress, which handles much more like a word processor and feels nimble and fast doing so.
Most plugins and themes from WordPress are compatible and can be used in ClassicPress without any issues. And that’s really great. For example, this website is also made with ClassicPress and almost exclusively uses WordPress plugins and a WordPress theme.
Some newer, more ‘modern’ plugins no longer support WordPress without blocks. Those do not work on ClassicPress, but the majority works fine. If you’re looking to host your own webshop the best option is to go with WooCommerce. The one cave-at with that is that modern WooCommerce requires the block editor. This means that for your webshop you’ll get an older, compatible, version of WooCommerce.

Do I need a domain name?
Yes. You can get domain names in many places. I know a good business where you can buy most extensions cheap and reliable with privacy protection. They also sell SSL/HTTPS certificates if you need it.
What kind of Hosting do I need?
Your hosting must be compatible with WordPress/ClassicPress, have access to (s)FTP and be allowed to have a MySQL database. If you don’t know which hosting you need, I can recommend a few good and affordable hosting companies which I use or have used myself.
When do we start?
As soon as I have all the required information and you have your hosting and domain sorted. I do expect to finish your order within a week from ordering though. Depending on how prepared you are this can go very fast.
Once done do you provide help and support?
Yes, all services I provide come with limited support. I have a knowledge base and ticket system which you can use. where you can ask all your questions related to ClassicPress or anything related to it.
