Description
GooseUp takes care of updates for compatible plugins so you don’t have to think too much about it. It automatically detects compatible plugins and starts fetching update information for them without you having to anything else besides having GooseUp active.
GooseUp is designed to make things easy for you. Since many of the plugins provided by AJdG Solutions are not on the wordpress.org website, updates are not always easy. No more messing with FTP clients if you don’t want to. Manual updates can be a chore and if you don’t pay close attention you may miss the update being released entirely.
GooseUp is installed like any other plugin – If you’re not sure how to install plugins yourself, check out the step-by-step guide here.
No setup at all
Simply activate GooseUp and it looks for compatible updates, identified by a special tag in the plugin specification. Update requests for compatible plugins are re-routed to download from my server instead of looking for it on the WordPress Repository.
AJdG Solutions plugins only
GooseUp handles plugins for every WordPress and ClassicPress plugin that is available through this website. It does not look at, or interfere, with the regular WordPress update routine.
How does it work?
Every plugin available through this website will have a special tag in it that GooseUp uses to identify if it’s compatible and where updates should come from.
Auto-Updates
Using GooseUp you can also enable the WordPress feature for Auto-Updates. That way you don’t have to be present to do the update. You can simply let WordPress and GooseUp handle updates for you.
Tried and tested
If you’re an AdRotate Pro user you already know the update system. Even if you never saw it, you’ve been using it for years. GooseUp uses the same tried and true infrastructure.
Data collection & Privacy
When you activate GooseUp or any of my plugins, it will not phone home with all kinds of identifiable information. Unlike Automattic which collects a lot of data about your website. GooseUp only sends your website url, the plugin name and version and an ID number to my server so it knows what update to get.
